Discussion:
Bold type for unread? How?
(too old to reply)

On my old computer, the headers for all unread messages in OE newsgroups
would appear in bold type. Once I read the message, the bold would change to
regular type.

My new computer doesn't do this. The only way I know how to "dim" messages
from bold to regular is "Ctrl A----Ctrl Q", which then "dims" ALL messages.

Where can I find the settings to set this up? Thanks.

Here's one which pretty much always catches me when I set up a new machine:

I read messages in the Preview Pane. In Tools | Options | Read there is a
setting for how long a message appears in the Preview Pane before it gets
marked as read. This defaults to 5 seconds. Since I often read messages
faster than that, they don't get marked as read until after I change that
setting.

Thank You very much, Frank.

I don't know how my settings were screwed up, but I reset them and it works
great. I notice the headers come up BOLD again when there's a new answer to
the post, otherwise they stay normal once read. Excellent.
