How does one back up Outlook Xpress and where to find the files
necessary to restore them?

Although you posted in the OE4 newsgroup, I'm going to assume that you
have OE5 or later.

The file structure changed significantly at OE5, so the backup procedure
is different between OE4 and OE5 and later.
