My wife and I share the same email address, whenever I send an email her
name appears as the sender. Is there a way to change this?

You appear to be using Outlook Express version 6. Assuming that you
want to be able to select which name is used for sending do the
following:

1) Create a new mail account in OE at Tools, Account, Mail. Make it
identical to the existing account, except for the following:
- Display Name during creation (or you can change later at Tools,
Account, Mail, Properties, General)
- Including this account when checking mail (also at Tools, Account,
Mail, Properties, General).

2) When you go to send a message, there will now be a From header with a
drop down list. It will default to your wife's name. You can select
your own name before sending.

There select Internet Explorer, then Outlook Express.

What is the difference between an account and an identity?
A mail account is an account with a mail provider, such as verizon, which
provides your email address.

An OE Identity is a particular access to OE and associated database. You
can have up to 32 accounts in an identity. (total of mail and news
accounts)

In addition to what Frank has replied, an Identity is a means of
separating mail without having to create separate Windows logons.

Two common uses of Identities:

1) Several people share a PC and want to keep their mail separate

2) One person wants to keep personal mail separate from business mail
